Hello Doctors. I started on that new testosterone gel, Androgel, 5mg daily about 2 weeks ago. I was wondering if I should feel any difference in how I feel now, cause i don't. Is it too short of a time? I know not many reports are out yet about about the gel, but, what about people who are on the patches with the same 5mgs, do they get the benefits in 2 weeks? Maybe I was expecting too much in a short time, but I don't feel any better. My doc. did tell me that the gel comes in different doses, should I ask for higher or just wait a little longer and see how I feel? I hate the thought of wasting my money( my insurance does pay half)Any suggestions? Thank you so much for your time. Ricky
Response from Dr. Fisher
Yes it is too soon. Give it a month or so.
Your doc can check your testosterone blood levels to see if they have increased with the gel. If not...then try the larger dose.
I have started switching some of my patients from testosterone shots to the gel but have not had much (actually any) feedback yet.
