Data concerning vitamins
Apr 19, 1999

Are there any formal data from placebo-controlled, clinical trials evaluating the use of vitamins and supplements in persons with HIV disease?

Thanks.

Response from Dr. Dieterich

None that I know of at this time. There is an old study looking at B12 levels and correlating survival positively with B12 level. However, the vitamin companies have not been willing or able to pay for an expensive and placebo controlled study. Although, the company that makes glutathione is considering one, at the moment.
