Dear doctors your response to the person who wrote you that message was rude and thoughtless, you wrote, "so do ours" meaning your lives.
You made a commitment to answer this forum's questions so your lives should include answering the questions.
Second, do you wake up every morning wondering if this is going to be the symptom that will bring you to the hospital or kill you? Do you spend 24 hours a day with your life hanging from a thread?
Please, it does no good to just answer people's question like a machine, you need to have some empathy and humanity in what you do.
We are dying day after day, month after month, we live with this. We can't forget or put it aside.
Understand the frustration of people who don't get their answers, people who have nowhere else to turn to find a little peace of mind in the torment this disease is creating.
Again it's called empathy, humanity, understanding, compassion. Please do go on "your lives", we all respect that, but keep the above in mind.
Response from Dr. Dieterich
Well put. We should all take that advice to heart. Douglas T. Dieterich, M.D.
