|What dose of coenzyme Q, riboflavin,L carnitine?
Apr 5, 2000
I lost a great deal of body mass (upper arms, legs and butt) and facial fat two years ago on a combo that included DDI, D4T, Saquinivir and Ritonavir. After 5 months my doctor took me off DDI and substituted Abacavir. Since then my T4s and Viral Load have been very steady at 250 and 15,000 respectively. My doctor is reluctant to change anything so I am keen to try the supplements you suggested. Can you tell me an appropriate dosage for each supplement and the time span within which I can expect to see any results. Many thanks.

Co Q 30, Riboflavin 400, Carnitine 10. Bearing in mind that many of the over the counter vitamins may be different. The doses probably don't matter too much, as long as you are taking some. It can take a long time to see any results. In the papers published so far the mean time was about 2 months for the lactate to resolve, but in one case it took over a year. Good luck! Douglas T. Dieterich, M.D.
