|Exercise and Chemical Addiction.

Does physical activity stimulate the production of chemical endorphins in addiction patients? I know the chemical production of certain mood stabilizing chemical natural to the body is reduced and even stopped during during active addiction in addicts, and I was wondering what the major benefits were to physical exercise. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated, as well as the location of any articles on this that I could find. Thank You! Tom...
Response from Dr. Dieterich
Dear Tom, I would suggest that you search medline for articles about this. Physical exercise has many benefits and there is some data about endorphin release. I don't know anything about this in recovering addicts. You can look it up! Good luck! DTD
