Response from Dr. Pavia
It is likely that every possible regimen has been used but there are no studies looking at exactly the regimen you propose. If your only mutation in the RT gene is K103N, then it would not be predicted to have any effect on either tenofovir or abacavir. If you were on a lot of medications in the past that you were not taking when the test was done, there may be resistance that we are not measuring. If that is the case, there may be less of a response to abacavir. The 90 mutation in protease by itself will have little effect on Kaletra. The number of mutations in protease is one of the best predictors of Kaletra response. Good luck ATP | |||||||||
