An anxiety is killing me
Jun 7, 2001
Dear Dr., An anxiety is killing me. I met an unknown street girl (at midnight) and recieved oral sex (for about 5mins) from her. I partly came in her mouth and partly outside. Neither she bit me nor I saw any mark of blood on my penis after oral sex. I rubbed the upper part of her genitals with my right hand. I had a small scratch (1/2" long, never bled but was looking red) on a finger of my left hand which I got on the same day at noon. I didn't touch her genitals with my left hand, but I touched my semen (the part that came outside her mouth) and my right hand with my left hand. I have a few questions. Is my risk of getting hiv or other STDs real? May I get infected from the scartch in my left hand? Do I need a test? Please help!
Response from Dr. Young
I think that your risk of HIV infection from this exposure is very, very low.
