SUS vs. ELISA

Dear Dr. Murphy:
Would a negative HIV test by SUDS be as conclusive as a negative test by ELISA at 6 months post high-risk exposure? What about at 3 months? Your reply would be most appreciated.

Dear Questioner,
The SUDS test is fast, but not quite as accurate, although the test is improving. The standard is still the ELISA confirmed by Western Blot.
