Dr Young, Please advice!
Jan 30, 2002
Hello Dr Young, I'm really impressed with your work in this forum. I' ve been asking my question four times at safe sex forum but none of those got answered. So I hope that this time I can get my anxiety go off. I'm 25 years old guy and are sexually active. All the times, I'm the insertive partner and always wear condom but for oral sex , sometimes I let somebody suck my penis without the condom on and never do oral sex on my partner. I'm travell a lot around Europe as i work in the airline industry. So, Dr Young please advise me whether my behaviour is safe ( do anal sex with condom on )or I should stop my life style? Should I go for the blood test ? Dr Young, please advise me as I'm really confused and have nobody to turn to. I'm really appreciate your help. Thank You.

Response from Dr. Young

Thank you for your comments...
While this is really a forum for treatments, let me see if I can answer your questions.
In general, the insertive partner (either oral, vaginal or anal) is at lower risk of acquisition of HIV infection. The insertive oral partner is probably the lowest risk of all, and many consider this risk to be negligible.
Overall, though, I can tell that you are quite concerned about your risk, and it may be the situation that even negligible risk may be too high for you... in this circumstance, I think that the best approach is to use condoms at all times, and get tested.
Hope this helps, BY
