Fusion Inhibitor and Cosmetic Surgary
Apr 18, 2006

If i am taking T20 and added regimen would their be a problem if they perform a Tummy Tuck on me well the reason i ask you is because you inject at the skin level tissue level and tummy tucks are in the tissue area and well i take it in my sholder not my ab area.

Response from Ms. Salisbury

Hi,

T-20, also called Fuzeon, is injected in the fatty tissue (subcutaneous or "sub-q") in your abdomen and also in your thighs, back of arms and can be injected in the flank or "love handles." A tummy tuck should not deter you from using the abdomen as a site. Avoidance of the tummy area near the surgical line, and even a few weeks after the surgery might be a good idea to prevent pain from the healing incision due to the injection. You could benefit from a home visit from the "Nurse Connection". This is a free program for patients to improve injection technique and help with an evaluation of all the appropriate sites to inject the Fuzeon into. Your practitioner could make a referral to this program or you could call the 1-888-321-2233 to access this service. Good luck with your tummy tuck.

Carol
