Now that Isentress...
Nov 28, 2007

Now that Isentriss is here and finally my long term really bad numbers are on the rise, what can I hope for in terms of immune system My Doc tells me my lymph nodes are gone. Still feel terrible. Any info on this would be helpful. Thanks Doc

Response from Dr. Daar

The key is that you are started on a regimen that is likely to get your viral load to undetectable levels. Once that happens only time will tell how much your CD4 cells will increase. It turns out that this response is extremely variable from person to person. The good news is that most people who suppress their virus to undetectable levels do well regardless of how much their CD4 cells increase.

I can not even begin to address why you feel "terrible." You need to talk to your provider to determine exactly what is going on and what can be done about it.

Best, Eric
