Site Reactions Getting Worse
Oct 23, 2005

I have been taking Fuzeon with 3 other meds for about a month now. I am using a biojector 2000 device instead of syringes. I have been noticing that the site reactions are getting worse as I continue to take the Fuzeon. Does your body store Fuzeon and as you continue to take it causes worse site reactions? What is the best treatment to treat these reactions (hard lumps under the skin)?

Sorry to hear your having trouble with injection site reactions (ISRs). Did you start off immediately using the Biojector for your Fuzeon? If so, I'd suggest you consider trying the conventional injection supplies that come with you kit and/or try an insulin needle. Some people like insulin needles better with the belief that they are more comfortable, sharper, easier to handle, etc. Everyone responds differently, so it might be worth your while to try all the options.

The other things you might want to try including massage the site after injection for 5-10 minutes. Use your finger/hands and/or a mechanical vibrator. Some people find relief with heat or cold after an injection. Have you tried other body sites? If you're only using your abdomen, try the front of your thighs and/or you upper arms. Often times the more fat you have in an area, the less reaction you have. Some people have had success with the butt because of the extra fat that may be there.

Your body does not store the Fuzeon ... it's absorbed quickly. The lumps and bumps are irriation that occurs as a result of the medication injection.

I hope some of these suggestions work for you..
