Fuzeon
Aug 12, 2006
I started taking fuzeon 10 days ago.I'm using the Biojector(needless system) I like that system since the regular needles leave a red lump. But i'm noticing that I'm getting black/blues, red lumps, and hard lumps. Am I doing something wrong? or is this a normal reaction? The lumps prevent me from injecting myself in the surrounding area, I dont have enough fat on my thighs, or arms. Can I use Biojector on my buttocks? Thank you for your response...

Response from Ms. Salisbury

Hi, The bioinjector can cause bruising. Usually it occurs if the bioinjector is not held firmly and flush with the skin/site. It is important to use as many different sites as you can. This allows areas to old injection sites to heal and reduce reactions such as lumps, bumps, redness and bruising. Your buttocks would be an acceptable site.
I think it is important to revisit your technique especially if this is a recent problem. We sometimes hurry to give the injection and cause more reactions. I imagine you are on a study because the bioinjector is currently undergoing FDA approval in the US. I am not sure if it is available outside of the US. I
The study nurses are usually available to help with retraining to use the bioinjector. Good luck.
