| Agenerase Dosing w/ Norvir Mar 28, 2002 I've been HIV+ since '86 and am heavily drug experienced. My latest regimen of Agenerase, Ziagen, & Videx has been the best at controlling VL. Got it down to 57 about a year ago and it has slowly begun to creep back up to 1440 last month. My doctor decided to add 2 Norvir caps w/ 8 Agenerase to keep Agenerase levels up. My question: is once a day dosing ok or should I split the dosing during the day. Will the levels of the drugs stay in my system at sufficient levels for a 24hr period? What has research shown w/ these 2 meds? Thanks so much! |

Response from Dr. Boyle
Agenerase (amprenavir) with Norvir (ritonavir) has been approved by the FDA for once-daily dosing at 1200mg Agnerase + 200mg Norvir or for twice daily dosing at 600mg Agenerase + 100mg Norvir. There are several studies which support these dosing schedules and indicate that levels remain adequate. | |||||||||
