 Hola, Hay dos tipos de VIH: VIH-1 y VIH-2. El primero cuenta con casi todos los casos. Se encuentra VIH-2 principalmente en Africa occidental. Hoy en día muchos exámenes detectan ambos tipos. Debes confirmar que después de este resultado positivo hubo un examen confirmatorio, tal como un examen Western Blot. Sin esta confirmación, no se puede diagnosticar una infección por VIH.
