 Hola mamá preocupada, La carga viral representa esencialmente el nivel de actividad del virus en el cuerpo. En general, a más alta la carga viral, más alta el nivel de actividad del VIH y así el riesgo de progresión de la enfermedad. Sin embargo, no se debe interpretar la carga viral en un vacío o sea sin la otra prueba muy importante utilizada en la evaluación del estado de un portador, en concreto el recuento de células CD4. Los CD4 indican como el sistema inmunitario está funcionando a un momento particular. Los dos resultados deben interpretarse juntos. Muchas gracias por cuidarle a tu hijo.
