 No es sorprendente: Contrariamente a los pacientes sin inmunodeficiencia, los portadores suelen tener recurrencias de herpes zoster (culebrilla). Hay terapias antivirales que tratan herpes zoster, tales como acyclovir, valacyclovir y famciclovir, pero funcionan mejor cuando se empiecen dentro de los tres días después de la aparición de la erupción.
