MAC y TB. Profilaxis primaria Apr 21, 2004 Gracias por su atención. Cursé con sindrome diarreico por 5 meses, hubo hallazgos de Ielitis por CRIPTOSPORIDIUM, y C.M.V. El dx. incluyo probable M.A.C. Actualmente no tengo diarrea. Pregunta: para profilaxis preventiva primaria, de MAC y TB, tomo AZITROMICINA, RIMPANFICINA y COMPLEJO B ¿Es correcto el tratamiento? |

 Hola, Es muy importante que se haga distinciones entre profilaxis primaria y profilaxis secundaria: se usa el primero en las personas que no han tenido nunca la infección contra la cual se está usando la profilaxis, mientras que se usa el segundo para prevenir una reaparición de una infección. La segunda situación te aplica porque ya fuiste diagnosticada con "probable MAC." Tu tratamiento es correcto. Hay dos opciones para la profilaxis secundaria contra MAC Azitromicina + Ethambutol o Azitromicina + Rifampicina. Si, con la ayuda de tu régimen anti-VIH, tu recuento CD4 aumenta lo suficiente, es posible que puedas eventualmente discontinuar esta terapia profiláctica. Espero que eso te ayude.
