Ante todo felicitaciones. Su manera de responder nos hace sentir seguros y esperanzados.
Cmo puede infectarme de HV8? Cmo se si una persona lo tiene? Se manifiesta rapido? En que tiempo se manifestaria en mi que tengo HIV? Si o si desencadenaria en un SK? El SK necesita del HV8 para aparecer?

Aunque en ocasiones afecta a pacientes VIH+ que son usuarios de drogas o hemofílicos, e incluso a personas que han adquirido la infección por contagio heterosexual, el sarcoma de kaposi fundamentalmente se ha encontrado en varones homosexuales, sean o no portadores del VIH. Hoy en día se piensa que el sarcoma de Kaposi es una manifestación de la infeccion por el virus del herpes tipo 8, que es transmite por vías similares al virus del VIH, especialmente entre la población homosexual. El uso de preservativo previene su transmisión de la misma manera que preveine la trasmisión del VIH
Existen pruebas serológicas para saber si alguien está infectado por el virus HSV8, pero no se emplean en la practica clinica normal. Hoy en día el KS se ha disminuido su frecuencia de manera dramatica, gracias al tratamiento del VIH, es decir, tratando al VIH se previene la aparicion del sarcoma de kaposi.
El sarcoma de kaposi necesita del HV8 para aparecer, pero tambien del VIH y la inmunodeficiencia asociada con el mismo.
