Estimado doctor deseo saber el tratamiento actual del Sarcoma de Kaposi, he tenido referencias acerca del empleo del "Imiquimod" sabe algo al respecto. Gracias

Estimado Amigo:
Aunque esta no es mi área de experiencia pudiese decirle que afornada y desafortunadamente para los clínicos el Kaposi de Sarcoma luego de la intervención con terapia antiretroviral activa en los últimos 3 - 4 años ha disminuído marcadamente, ya que la propia terapia antiretroviral ayuda a resolver en la mayoría de los casos muchas de las lesiones. No tengo ninguna referencia ni experiencia con el uso del Imiquimod como aparece en su pregunta, sin embargo entiendo que todavía en muchos de los centros en los E.U. donde esta condición se trata le ofrecen cirugía laser conjuntamente con injecciones intracutaneas de interferon y se han usado también terapias o quimioterapia sistémica utilizando VP16.
