Advertisement Respuesta del Dr. Santana Estimado Amigo: El VPH o Virus de Papiloma Humano es un virus asociado al contacto sexual y qe puede causar en fermedad tanto en el varon como en la hembra. Existen varios serotipos los cuales se asocian con lesiones genitales, anales, y cervicales. Estos �ltimos estan asociados con el desarrollo de c�ncer en �tero y cervix. En la mayor�a de las ocasiones las lesiones pueden ser tratadas efectivamente con medicamentos topicales y/o criocirug�a (cirug�a en fr�o), no obstante en muchas de las ocasiones tienden a recurrir y se necesitan tratamientos adicionales. Estas lesiones son f�ciles de diagnosticar en el varon y en la mujer eel �rea vaginal y anal, sin embargo las lesiones cervicales deben ser evaluadas por un ginec�logo o experto, ya que se necesita de tinciones con �cidos especiales para detectarlas.
