Estimado Doctor. Soy HIV positivo diagnosticado hace un año. Estoy con Tratamiento antiretroviral (abacavir, lamivudina y efavirenz) y la carga viral es indetectable, y los CD4 pasaron de 320 a 550. Mi pareja fue diagnosticada hace 1 mes también positiva y con carga viral en un millon. Hubo un contacto sexual de riesgo un mes antes de es prueba (yo en calidad de sexo receptivo). Tengo algún riesgo y cuál sería?

Buenos días,
El riesgo es eso de la superinfección o sea la adquisición de una segunda cepa del virus en una persona ya infectada por VIH. Esta cepa puede ser más agresiva y resistente que la primera y así resulta en una progresión acelerada de la enfermedad. Por tanto, se recomienda que las parejas en que ambas son seropositivas utilicen condones siempre con el sexo penetrativo.
Ten en cuenta que bajar la carga viral de tu pareja bajará el riesgo de la superinfección entre ustedes. Por eso, puede ser que tu pareja quiera pensar seriamente en comenzar tratamiento.
