Estimados Dr. Steve Natterstad: con mi pareja nos hicimos la prueba Elisa, a mi me dio negativo con una anterior seis meses antes tambien negativo, mi pareja se hizo uno hace año y medio y dio negativo, esta ultima le dio positivo, estamos esperando la segunda Elisa. Puede ser q yo lo tenga y no salga en mi prueba? puede ser q yo lo contagie y el se manifiesta primero?. Hace un año q somos pareja, en junio de 07 tube Hep B Aguda, por eso me hice la prueba, antes de la hepatitis no nos cuidamos, despues si, hasta q nos decidimos en hacer esta prueba para estar trankilos, por eso yo espere a enero 08. Sera falso su positivo, puede ser?, estoy muy preocupado, les agradeceria mucho una respuesta. Gracias

Hola,
No deberías adelantarte a los acontecimientos. Ahora solamente sabes que tu pareja dio positivo en un solo ELISA. Para diagnosticar una infección por VIH, se necesita un ELISA repetidamente positivo y confirmado por un examen Western Blot positivo. Un segundo ELISA positivo junto con un Western Blot positivo será necesario para hacer un diagnóstico de seropositividad. Por favor escríbeme nuevamente cuando tienes más resultados.
