Estimado doctor steve.
que tan confiable es un pcr y despues de cuanto tiempo despues de el contacto puedo hacerlo?no se si la persona este infectada pero quisiera saver que me recomienda?

Estimado Marco,
No fastidies con un PCR para descartar una infección por el VIH. No es el examen apropiado por varias razones, incluyendo una tasa importante de falsos positivos y la costa del examen. Un examen de anticuerpos, tal como un ELISA, es el patrón oro. Si tuviste una exposición importante, hazte este tipo de examen a los tres meses para obtener un resultado definitivo.
