		que beneficios Feb 21, 2009 Hola dr quiero agradecerle por su extraordinaria labor...mi pregunta es me contagie del virus y se exactamente la fecha de contagio ,siempre tube el control de mi vida hasta ahora quisiera saber dr q bentajas tengo al comenzar el trataminto dentro de los 6 meses de contagio hay alguna bentaja para pacientes recien contagiados o es mejor esperar ...el tratamiento cuando bajen mis cd4 muchas gracias por su atencion


Advertisement Respuesta del Dr. Natterstad Buenos d�as, La realidad es que respecto a las ventajas (o desventajas) de empezar tratamiento durante la fase de infecci�n aguda por VIH, el jurado todav�a est� deliberando. Existen datos que sugieren que puede ser beneficioso a largo plazo para el sistema inmunitario; sin embargo, a este momento con los datos que ya tenemos, no podemos sacar conclusiones definitivas. Las buenas noticias son que un gran estudio que est� investigando los posibles beneficios y detrimentos de un inicio temprano de terapia est� en desarrollo y esperamos los resultados durante este a�o. Dado que hoy en d�a por lo general la tendencia est� moviendo en direcci�n a terapia precoz, sigo estando a favor de empezar la terapia durante la fase aguda, o sea el periodo dentro de seis meses despu�s del contagio, y de continuarla indefinidamente si es bien tolerada. Sin embargo, porque el jurado todav�a est� deliberando, tambi�n estoy a favor de empezarla en el contexto de los ensayos cl�nicos cuando sea posible. Mucha suerte y un gran abrazo.
