Primero felicitaciones por su enorme ayuda a todos... Dios los bendiga.
En este momento tengo muchas inquietudes, acaban de darnos el resultado de la prueba Western Block de VIH de mi padre y salió positivo, el tiene 72 años, siente cansancio, ha perdido peso, tiene molestias en la garganta y no quiere comer.... él no lo sabe, la prueba se la hicimos mi hermana y yo como parte de todos los examenes que el doctor pidió por sus síntomas... No sé qué hacer, a donde acudir, realmente estoy desesperada y quisiera su orientación.... ó único que me mantiene en este momento es mi confianza y esperanza en Dios.

Hola "Hija Desperada,"
El primer paso es sin duda decirle la verdad a tu padre. Tu padre es el que es seropositivo y claro que tiene derecho a saberlo y claro que debe saberlo para obtener la asistencia médica que necesita. El según paso es hacerle contar con los servicios con un médico especialista en VIH. Requerirá una evaluación completa, la que incluirá para comenzar un historial médico, un examen médico y varios análisis de laboratorio, particularmente un conteo de CD4 que evaluará el estado de su sistema inmune y una carga viral que medirá la cantidad del VIH en sangre. Estos dos resultados les ayudarán a él y su médico especialista en VIH a decidir cuándo comenzar a tomar medicamentos para el tratamiento contra el VIH.
Espero que ahora sepas qué hacer y a dónde acudir y que por ello estés menos desesperada. Mucha suerte y abrazos fuertes para ti, tu hermana y tu padre.
