Como se ve el panorama?

Hola Doctor, buenas tardes, no se si me recuerde, le escribí hace unos meses desde Colombia. Bueno, resumiendo ya me he puesto en contacto con uan entidad de salud , la cual pues me ordenaron los cd4 y carga viral. Mis cd4 son de 184 mm3 y la carga es de 43243. Cómo me ven? Es optimista el panorama? Qué viene ahora?

Hola nuevamente,
Sí es optimista, pero con un recuento de CD4 en este rango, necesitarás pensar seriamente en comenzar tratamiento. Primero, te recomiendo que te hagas una prueba de resistencia, un genotipo, para ayudarte a escoger el mejor régimen antirretroviral. También, ya que tu recuento de CD4 es inferior a 200, te recomiendo que hables a tu médico especialista en VIH de tomar la profilaxis para la neumonía pneumocystis (PCP por sus siglas en inglés). Si no tienes alergia a los antibióticos sulfa, puedes tomar la profilaxis preferida, una combinación de trimetoprima-sulfametoxazol (Bactrim, Septra).
Estos son los primeros pasos más importantes.
