hace 4 años tomo terovirales: zidovudina, lamiduvina,efavirenz.y me ha ido muy bien, pero el dr. a notado que esta comenzando una lipoatrofia en lasextremidades suoeriores inferiores,y me ha cambiado un medicamenro: la zidovudina por el abacavir. mi cd4 es de 1200 y carga viral indetectable estara bien o e cambiado de esquema..

¡BRAVO! El cambio de la zidovudina (Retrovir, AZT) por el abacavir (Ziagen) fue exactamente lo que necesitaste hacer porque la zidovudina, como la stavudina (Zerit, d4T) puede asociarse con la lipoatrofia (pérdida de grasa en la cara, brazos, glúteos y piernas). ¿Sabes que existe una pastilla de combinación compuesta de abacavir y lamivudina (Epzicom, Kivexa)?
