una persona con sida puede combatir el SK?

hola doc, mi hermano tiene sida y sus cd4 no sobre pasan las 13 y le han aparecido otras enfermedades como el SK,el doctor de mi hermano le suspendio el tratamiento contra el sida ya que mi hermano esta con una anemia y tiene los ganglios inflamados le tomaron examenes para saber el porque de su inflamacion , luego de unas semanas volvio a tomar su triterapia pero el sk todavia no se lo tratan ya que el medico dice que sus cd4 son muy bajas(13)mi preocupacion es que a mi hermano cada vez le salen mas manchas y se sigue inchando ,en realidad estoy muy preocupada por el si ud me puede ayudar estaria muy agradecida ya que no se puedo hacer para ayudarlo.cuando es recomendable empezar el tratamiento contra el sk si mi hermano tiene 13 (cd4).y segun ud cuanto es el tiempo de vida que tiene un pasiente con estas caracteristicas? de ante mano muchas gracias jennifer.

Antes que nada, muchísimas gracias por cuidarle tan atentamente a tu hermano. Tiene suerte de tenerte.
Me alegro mucho de que volviera a tomar su triterapia porque en la mayoría de casos del Sarcoma de Kaposi (SK), la terapia antirretroviral eficaz ayuda mucho a lograr controlar les lesiones. Sí, aún la desaparición completa de estas lesiones es bien posible. Si sus lesiones persisten después de haber logrado suprimir su carga viral lo más posible y de haberla mantenido así mucho tiempo o si no puede controlar el VIH con TARGA (terapia antirretroviral de gran actividad), debería ver a un dermatólogo que tiene mucha experiencia en el tratamiento del SK. Hay varias opciones, tales como la radioterapia, la crioterapia o la quimioterapia.
En cuanto al "tiempo de vida que tiene un paciente con estas características," no hay ninguna razón por la que no esperar que pueda vivir una vida no solamente larga sino también muy feliz siempre que continúe en manos de su médico especialista en VIH. A propósito, con 13 CD4 necesita tratamiento y/o exámenes para varias infecciones oportunistas (la neumonía por pneumocystis carinii, MAC, retinitis por CMV, etc.). Debería confirmar con su especialista que él o ella está ocupándose de estos temas.
