hola doctor buenas dias mi nombre es david tengo 20 años fui contagiado de vih y bueno estuve mal con unos sintomas de diarrea y fiebre y dolor de cabeza me diagnosticaron toxoplasmosis en el cerebro ellos dicen que es una supuesta toxo por que el bactrim me esta haciendo bien ahora ya estoy bien recuperado me hicieron todas los analisis y todo a salido negativo haci que hace 1 dia empeze el tratamiento para el virus pero mi cd4 es de 76 usted cree que eso afecte la toxo del cerebro pero ademas estoy tomando vitaminas para la anemia por que mi hemo es de 10.9 estoy tomando el acido folico y el sulfato ferroso usted cree tambien que ese tratamiento demore para la anemia es que muchas pastillas me tienen desesperado bueno bye gracias

Hola David,
El diagnóstico de toxoplasmosis se basa no solamente en la respuesta a la terapia sino a un escáner MRI del cerebro y a la presencia en sangre de los anticuerpos contra el Toxoplasma y del parásito en el fluido espinal más la respuesta a la terapia. Por tanto, tu respuesta a la terapia no te da un diagnóstico confirmado y definitivo de la toxoplasmosis. Como mínimo, debieras hacerte la serología para el Toxoplasma (una prueba de sangre). Si los anticuerpos no están presentes, no tuviste la Toxoplasmosis.
En cuanto a la anemia, primero quisiera confirmar que la causa o las causas fueran identificadas. Hay muchas causas potenciales de la anemia en el contexto del VIH, incluyendo una anemia crónica debida al VIH sí mismo; una concentración inferior a la normal de ciertas hormonas, tal como la testosterona; y varias infecciones oportunistas entre otras causas. Es verdad que una deficiencia de o el hierro o el acido fólico puede resultar en la anemia, pero ¿hizo tu médico especialista en VIH las pruebas de sangre para documentar tal deficiencia antes de empezar estos suplementos?
