Tengo mi hermano con HIV recien detectado y el valor de su CD4 es de 7 y esta recibiendo Duovir y efavirenz que otras alternativas de tratamiento se puede dar sera posible una transfusión de sangre

Hola Hermano Preocupado,
Con un recuento de CD4 de solamente 7 células, tu hermano y su médico especialista en VIH claramente deben prestar atención a muchas cosas importantes. No puedo cubrir todo en una respuesta; sin embargo, sí quiero subrayar un componente muy importante de su tratamiento -- eso de la profilaxis de las infecciones oportunistas. Soy muy optimista que con el tiempo en tratamiento, sus va a aumentar. Pero en el entretanto, con un sistema inmunitario puesto en peligro (solamente 7 células de CD4), él requiere el tratamiento profiláctico contra estas infecciones oportunistas:
1. La neumonía por Pneumocystis carinii.
2. La toxoplasmosis, si tiene un análisis de toxo positivo en sangre.
3. Una infección por Mycobacterium Avium Complex (MAC).
También debe ver a un oftalmólogo para descartar una infección por Cytomegalovirus (CMV).
Basado en la información limitada de la que me proveíste, no hay señal de que necesita una transfusión de sangre.
