TOXOPLASMOSIS

Estimado Doctor me mandaron ha realizarme una examen de toxoplasmosis y salio positivo para IGG, tambien Chagas +,mi carga viral es de 100.000 y mi CD4 de 127. el Doctor me dijo que debo empezar el tratamiento, pero no se como vn ha tratar la toxoplasmosis, sera que tengo que realizar dos tratamietos a la vez. Me asusta. Gracias

Hola,
El resultado de tu examen de toxoplasmosis no indica que tienes la toxoplasmosis sino que tienes anticuerpos (IgG) contra el Toxoplasma gondii, el parásito responsable de causar toxoplasmosis. Si tus CD4 estuvieron por debajo de 100, necesitarías tomar TMP/SMX (Bactrim o Septra) para prevenir la toxoplasmosis. Sin embargo, deberías estar tomándolo (o una alternativa) de todos modos para prevenir la neumonía por Pnemocystis carinii que puede aparecer cuando el recuento de CD4 es inferior a 200. Finalmente, con los CD4 de 127 y una carga viral de 100.000, deberías estar tomando un régimen anti-VIH. ¿Es el caso?
