Hola Dr. Steve, vengo siguiendo este foro hace un par de meses y me lo he leido todo y he aprendido mucho.
pues bien en Octubre 2005 fui Diagnosticado por el sindrome Guillian Barre, junto con todo los examenes para determinar que era lo que me afectaba, tambien fui diagnosticado con el vih, afortunadamente despues de una larga terapia pude salir adelante con el problema del Guillian Barre, en Diciembre comence mi terapia con las medicinas siendo kaletra y convivir mi regimen hasta ahora. el primer analisis (Diciembre)cd4 24 cv 100.000 segundo analisis (Marzo) cd4 189 cv 760 tercer(Julio) cd 101 cv 362 cuarto analisis (octubre) cd4 134 cv 262.
quiesiera preguntar como cree que ido evolucionando en este primer a;o con los medicamentos? ademas estoy tomando sulfamethox y fluconazole. estos medicamentos hasta cuando lo debere tomar? y como hacer para que los cd4 suban?

Querido Patri de Florida,
Es bien posible que un componente de tu régimen -- AZT (zidovudina, Retrovir), uno de los dos componentes del comprimido de combinación Combivir -- pueda ser impidiendo un aumento de tus CD4 más importante. (Uno de los efectos secundarios posibles del AZT es la supresión de la médula ósea, la cual puede atenuar la respuesta CD4 a la terapia antirretroviral. Te sugiero que hables a tu médico especialista en VIH de sustituir Combivir por dos otros fármacos, tales como tenofovir (Viread) y emtricitabina (Emtriva). Truvada es una combinación de estos dos fármacos en un solo comprimido.
En cuanto al trimetoprima-sulfametoxazol que estás tomando como profilaxis de la neumonía por pneumocystis carinii, debes continuar tomándolo hasta que tus CD4 sigan por encimo de 200 por un espacio de 12 semanas. En cuanto a la fluconazola, no me diste ninguna razón por la que deberías estar tomándolo. Es un agente antihongos y no se recomienda rutinariamente antes de una infección de esta naturaleza.
