Ante todo ,enhorabuena por su trabajo Doctor Steve.
ahora vamos con mi pregunta. me gustaria saber si el medicamento septrin forte tiene alguna relacion con los pacientes vih +. puede formar parte de la terapia a pesar de no ser un antirretroviral? si es asi , en que tipo de casos se utiliza ?saludos!!

Hola,
Septrin Forte (trimetoprima-sulfametoxazol), también conocido como Bactrim o Septra, se usa para prevenir y también para tratar la neumonía por Pneumocystis carinii, una enfermedad oportunista, en las personas con VIH/SIDA. En cuanto a su uso como profilaxis, debe iniciarse cuando el recuento de células CD4 sea por debajo de 200, cuando haya candidiasis oral o cuando exista fiebre inexplicada de más de dos semanas.
