hola doctor en el 2003 me diagnosticaron vih tenia 20cd4 y carga viral de 302000 copias cmv positivo 1/16 antiginemia cmv en sangre periferica positivo 1,se descarto retinitis por cmv en ese momento,desde entonces tomo sustiva viared y epivir,tengo la carga indetectable y las celulas no bajan de 500,pero hace unos dias noto la vicion un poco borrosa,he leido que la retinitis es por lo general al tener menos de 50cd4.mi pregunta es pudiera tener retinitis por cmv o pudiese ser algun problema de la vista,estoy aterrado soy miope desde pequeño y tengo mas miedo a perder la poca vista que tengo que al vih,tambien quisiera saber si tener el virus del cmv es estar enfermo de citomegalovirus.gracias doctor espero pueda contestarme un saludo desde españa.

Hola amigo,
Tienes razón que la retinitis por CMV aflicta en general a la gente con menos de 50 CD4. Por tanto, este diagnóstico sería una explicación de tus síntomas visuales muy improbable en tu caso. Sin embargo, hay muchas otras causas de la disminución de la visión y debieras ver a un oftalmólogo para un examen de los ojos.
La presencia de anticuerpos contra el CMV en sangre es muy común e indica una infección latente y no activa, y así no quiere decir que estás enfermo de CMV. La enfermedad de CMV, por ejemplo la retinitis por CMV, representa una reactivación de una infección previamente latente.
