CD4 17 ETAPA SIDA

hola doc: por lo que lee es cierto cd4 17 muy bajos, comence ayer 26/05 un tratamiento con COMBIVIR, STOCRIN Y DAPSONA para las infecciones, tengo un herpes en el labio inferior y me duele mucho se me quitara con las drogas, me quedo tranquilo y espero, estoy un poco confundido y triste no esperaba que mi cd4 fueran tan bajos, desde chile un abrazo

Hola amigo chileno,
Combivir (AZT + 3TC) y Stocrin (efavirenz) es una buena combinación, típicamente muy eficaz y bien tolerada. No mencionaste tu carga viral, pero supongo que obtuviste una a nivel basal antes de empezar el tratamiento. Te aconsejo que la controles de nuevo en dos semanas para asegurarte de que esta combinación está funcionando bien. También supongo que tu médico especialista en VIH te recetó dapsona para la profilaxis de la neumonía por Pneumocystis carinii (PCP, por sus siglas en inglés). Existe una interacción entre dapsona y Stocrin: el último puede disminuir los niveles de dapsona en la sangre y así hace que resulte menos eficaz esta forma de profilaxis. Hay otras opciones, tales como la combinación de trimetoprima-sulfametoxazol (TMP-SMZ, Bactrim, Septra), que es, de hecho, el fármaco de elección. Habla con tu especialista en VIH de las otras opciones.
