HOLA SOY HOMBRE PACIENTE CON VIH POSITIVO ESTABLE, CON CD4 DE 220 Y CARGA INDETECTABLE DE MENOS DE 400, ADEMAS CON MUCHOS DESEOS DE PODER SER PAPA, PERO TENGO ALGUNAS DUDAS, ES DECIR, Q OPCIONES TENGO ? SI LA MAMA NO ESTA INFECTADA, AUTOMATICAMENTE AL QUEDAR EMBARAZADA DE MI SE INFECTARIA? QUE PASA CON EL BEBE?

Hola Aspirante a la Paternidad,
No, al quedar embarazada ella no se infectaría automáticamente de ti. De hecho existe una técnica llamada "sperm washing," por la cual la esperma está separada de los fluidos y las células del semen que puedan llevar el virus. Entonces, la esperma puede ser usada para la inseminación artificial o la fecundación "in vitro." La esperma sí misma puede llevar VIH, pero la mayoría del VIH está llevada por las otras células del semen. Permítame darles algunos contactos y otras fuentes de información. Dr. Augusto Semprini ha usado "sperm washing" en Italia con algún éxito. Dos médicos en los Estados Unidos, Dr. Ann Kiessling (Harvard Medical School, Boston) y Dr. Mark Sauer (Columbia University, New York City) están realizando ensayos clínicos, evaluando este procedimiento en los hombres VIH-positivos.
