Tengo una amiga que es positiva ,tuvo un bebe hace cuatro anos ,ella tomo convivir y no recuerdo cual otro en su embarazo y durante el parto por cesarea le administraron azt cuando el bebe nacio tomo por 18 meses medicamentos ,despues de los 18 meses dijeron los doctores que era un bebe normal sin problemas del virus pero ella quiere saber que riesgo o posibilidad hay de que aparezca algo a futuro ,espero su respuesta,gracias,bendiciones de Dios para uds.

Hola amigo bondadoso,
Si el bebe fue negativo a los 18 meses, no hay ningún riesgo de que aparezca el virus a futuro. La historia de tu amigo demuestra varias cosas que disminuyan el riesgo de transmisión perinatal:
1. La probabilidad de transmisión perinatal cuando la madre no toma tratamiento es 20%. Con HAART o TARGA (Tratamiento Antirretroviral de Gran Actividad) es entre el 1% y el 2%.
2. El parto por cesárea reduce el riesgo de transmisión.
