efectos a largo plazo

Hola,ante todo felicitarles por tan solidaria página,pues a pesar del estigma tan grande que hay con la enfermedad del vih,existen personas como vosotros en quien poder encontrar un gran apoyo,mi pregunta es la siguiente:¿es cierto que puede haber efectos adversos a largo plazo en los niños nacidos de madres seropositivas que han estado en tratamiento antirretroviral durante el embarazo?pues yo tengo un niño precioso de 28 meses de edad,es seronegativo,y yo estuve en tratamiento desde las 14 semanas de embarazo en tratamiento con combivir y viramune hasta el parto;¿que posibilidades hay de que mi hijo desarrolle a largo plazo algún efecto adverso como tengo entendido por algunas fuentes de información?¿y de qué efectos adversos se trata?.

Hola nueva madre,
Es verdad que evitamos ciertos antirretrovirales, como efavirenz (Sustiva), durante el embarazo, porque existe un riesgo de desarrollar las deformaciones en el feto. Pero se piensa que tu régimen Combivir y Viramune es bastante seguro cuando se usa durante el embarazo. De hecho, tu régimen es una de las combinaciones preferidas para usarse durante el embarazo según la Organización Mundial de la Salud (World Health Organization, en inglés).
