Estimado Dr. Steven, antetodo darle las gracias por la inmensa labor desarrollada y la ayuda que nos da.
Mi pregunta es la siguiente ¿puede el virus de inmunodeficiencia humana originar una insuficiencia renal cronica? Atentamente Jose.

Querido José,
Sí, hay una complicación renal (i.e. que afecta los riñones) llamada la nefropatía asociada al VIH. La causa se desconoce pero es debida posiblemente a la infección por VIH de algunos tipos de células renales. El tratamiento de primera línea es tratar la enfermedad por VIH con un régimen antirretroviral eficaz. Saludos.
