CD4 y 2 Antibioticos

Hola Dr. Steve,
Un saludo desde Washington, DC y gracias por su gran colaboracion a este foro.
Soy VIH positivo desde hace dos años pero aun no estoy bajo tratamiento porque mis niveles de CD4 y CV estan aceptables, pero ahora estoy atacado por partida doble, en un examen de rutina por STD se me detecto sifilis y comence el tratamiento con penicilina intramuscular inmediatamente ya tuve la primera dosis me faltan dos, a los tres dias se me desarrollo un dolor intenso en mi brazo y hombro izquierdo al dia siguiente amaneci con ampollas rojas en ese lado, diagnostico HERPES ZOSTER (Culebrilla), se me receto Acyclovir 800mg por 7 dias. Ahora doctor tengo dos preguntas la primera, el tomar estos dos antibioticos al mismo tiempo afectara el resultado de mis niveles CD4? Tengo mi proximo test de sangre el 10/Ene/2008
El que haya brotado el HERPES ZOSTER a mi edad (44) es sintoma de que mis niveles de CD4 hayan bajado drasticamente en dos meses desde que me hice el ultimo chequeo? tuve gripe fuerte hace una semana y he estado bajo stress en los ultimos meses por mis finanzas.

Hola,
Siento que estés pasando por una mala racha. La buena noticia es que estas dos infecciones sífilis y culebrilla son tratables. Otra buena noticia es que los dos antibióticos que estás tomando, y en realidad cualquier antibiótico, no afectarán de ninguna manera tus niveles de CD4. Una infección aguda sí misma, tales como la sífilis o la culebrilla, puede disminuir moderadamente el recuento de CD4; sin embargo, en un mes, al momento de tu próximo control, un efecto así debería haber disipado.
El desarrollo de la culebrilla, en una forma localizada como la tuya, no reflecta el nivel de los CD4. De hecho, se ve la culebrilla con cierta frecuencia en las personas seronegativas de tu edad y sus CD4 son normales.
Y como si no fuera suficiente esto, tuvo "gripe fuerte hace una semana" y has "estado bajo stress en los últimos meses por (tus) finanzas." ¡Uy! Te receto algo tiempo de inactividad durante las fiestas.
