Will HIV/AIDS ever become like having diabeties or high blood presure? Where as long as you take your medication and take it correctly you will likely live to ripe old age like 80 or so? I am worried and would just like to know. Thank you for your answer.
Response from Dr. Boyle
Yes, HIV medications are becoming easier to take, more effective and less toxic. There is every reason to expect that patients with HIV should live long lives if they take their medications religously and otherwise practice a healthy lifestyle. Still, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" and who wants to take medications for the rest of their life if they can avoid it.
