d4T and peripheral neuropathy
Nov 13, 1997

I am currently on a Crix/d4T/3TC combo with great results -- undetectable VL and high/rising t-cells. I've been told that d4T can cause peripheral neuropathy in some patients. Is there anything I can do to reduce my chances of getting neuropathy? Diet? Supplements? Exercise? I want to stay on this combo as long as it works.

Response from Dr. Gallant

There's nothing that we know of that can decrease your chances of developing neuropathy, and since there isn't it's better not to think about it. I'm glad to hear you're doing well.
