Side effects how long?
Sep 2, 2001

Are the side effects of treatment likely to last as long as one takes the meds? What about the newest meds are the side effects more tollerable? Could you tell me if there are any out there or coming down the pipeline that will be far less likely to produce diarrea or fatigue?

Response from Dr. Henry

For most patients some combination of the available medications can be found that results in few if any side effects for a given individual. That can be a trial and error process. Often side effects will lessen with time and/or something can be done to minimize any persistent side effects. There are medications available already that rarely are associated with diarrhea or fatigue with more on the way. KH
