lymph node operation
Jun 1, 2000

Thanks for answering my question about surgical removal of lymph nodes. I definitely intend on having this procedure done. Are there any dangers involved with the procedure? How are the lymph nodes removed? (are they cut out) and can I go directly back to work after an operation of this magnitude?

Response from Dr. Henry

Removal of lymph nodes can interfere with the delicate flow of lymph fluid through a region which can result in swelling of the region which can last a long time (just a caution/warning). Usually one would be able to return to work fairly promptly. Keith Henry, M.D.
