scared, please clarify Jun 8, 2001 dear doc, i saw your recent response of about the rash seen in ars. you said it often last for few hours. i had protected sex with a sexworker and after 10 days i felt feverish, i had other symptoms of ars and also i had rash (red) on my arms, some on chest which lasted for few hours and itched (it itched and i scratched and the rash appeared and it continued to itch and stayed for 19 hours). do the rash in hiv infection behaves like this ?? im scared. |

 What you described would be very atypical for an HIV related rash. If in doubt, get tested if for nothing else to relieve any anxiety and to get further education about safe sex. KH | ||||||||
