i get the infection 2 years ago (infected with hiv) and take the treatment since 2 months half, never had other chronicle illness in my life before hiv, im latin male 28 years, 1.80 m. 78 kg. without any health problem (yet) i want to know my life expectancy please, i know is not 100% accurate buts is just an idea, thanks

Life expectancy in HIV depends on many factors. For persons who are non smoking, are taking effective HIV treatment (HIV levels < level of detection), have decent CD4 counts (> 350), non smoking, no hepatitis C or other significant active health problems (such as renal failure or diabets), the life expectancy has been moving closer and closer to that of the general population. Family genetics, level or risk taking (seat belt use for example) and many other factors further influence long term prognosis. KH
