|low viral load

i am on hiv treatment since december 2011. since august 2012 viral load is below 150 but is not undetectable. cd4 count is between 400 to 500. is the therapy working or do i need to change. at present i am an a combination therapy containing effavirenz 600 mg, tenofovir disoprxil fumarate 245 mg and lamvudine 300mg

Ideally the viral load will be below the detection limit.150 copies is low and below the more worrisome level of 200-500 copies/ml. If you started with a very high viral load it can take longer to get to the lower levels. For now missing no doses of meds and monitoring situation under supervision of your HIV doctor is recommended. If level trends upward to > 200 to 500 concern increases significantly. KH
