| tribuss and pregnancy Jul 5, 2012 My doctor has prescribed tribuss to me. I read the leaflet inside the box, and is said that tribuss is not recommendable for women intending or trying to be pregnant. Should I start the treatment. I intend trying to have a baby in 5-6 months, is it safe? |

Response from Dr. Henry
If you are serious about getting pregnant then tribuss (generic form of Atripla) is not recommended due to concern about increased risk for fetal problems from the efavirenz. you might consider using either a nevirapine or boosted protease inhibitor based regimen if you plan to become pregnant soon-recommend discussing with your HIV doctor.
