Glomerulonephritis and Hiv
Dec 7, 2011
Hello i want to ask if early glomerulonephritisor lupus nephritis -without proteinuria and normal renal function- can be treated in a hiv carrier and have a long life, please tell me something good i am really scared, thank you very much for your help.
Response from Dr. Henry
HIV+ patients with lupus nephritis can do well (long fulfilling survival in many cases would be expected) with treatment of both diseases though often challenging. Treating the HIV infection can be protective of HIV-related renal damage as well. KH
